Trains, and boats and planes

It is almost newsletter time and I've been slacking on my blog, but not for lack of deep and warm musical thoughts. This quarter at Musicians Institute I've been required to create a minimum of one song video per week. Next week is week 5, and guess what? All this singing and learning about vocal technique has made me realize just how damaging dairy products (and chocolate) have been to my voice. Eek!

So I am heading back to the gym (haven't been since Covid!) and planning to do my best to stay away from dairy. And we'll see how it goes! Here's a homework video of one of my favorite original compositions--Is Anybody Home? I'll be sharing more on my Facebook page soon.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Trains and Boats and Planes is one of the songs I want to cover for my Performance homework. I just love the warm, airy tone that Dionne Warwick brings to the song, and her diction is amazing. Something to aspire to! Burt Bacharach is also a favorite composer of mine. I'll post again when I complete that video.
